About The Position

The Chemical Operator (Production Technician) is responsible for safely operating resin manufacturing processes at the Morganton site. This role supports production, quality, safety, and equipment reliability while working closely with teammates and site leadership to keep the plant running efficiently and safely. Your work directly impacts plant safety, environmental compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational reliability at the Morganton site. You play a hands-on role in identifying risks, solving problems, and improving how the plant operates every day.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 55 lbs and working in confined spaces
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to use SAP and digital tools
  • Team-focused mindset with strong ownership and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing or chemical handling experience
  • Process equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Vocational or post-secondary technical education
  • Ability to analyze data and turn insights into action

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily production tasks while actively preventing incidents and unsafe conditions
  • Enforce safety procedures, PPE use, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe, compliant plant
  • Participate in incident investigations, safety audits, and emergency response activities
  • Identify process changes and initiate Management of Change activities to reduce risk
  • Operate resin manufacturing equipment to meet production and quality targets
  • Monitor processes, analyze trends, and troubleshoot issues before they escalate
  • Document production activity, delays, and batch data in SAP and log systems
  • Improve efficiency by optimizing cycle times and reducing waste
  • Follow operating procedures to ensure products meet all specifications
  • Investigate quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions
  • Apply strong process knowledge to anticipate and prevent quality risks
  • Perform basic maintenance and equipment checks to support uptime
  • Partner with maintenance teams to resolve mechanical issues
  • Identify and report equipment problems early to avoid unplanned downtime
  • Train and support new operators to raise overall team performance
  • Improve and update operating procedures to standardize work
  • Support shift leadership and step in during abnormal operations or coverage gaps
