About The Position

To manufacture new generation reverse osmosis membrane elements. This will include many unit operations including 3D printer operation, element rolling and trimming, fiberglass wrapping and final testing.

Responsibilities

  • Program printing system for various patterns
  • Operating and maintaining polymer printing process
  • Measure and cut membrane leaves from rolls based on production order
  • Load and unload materials into printing system
  • Visual quality inspection of printing process
  • Learn 2nd printing system within 6 months of starting
  • Work directly with printer and polymer suppliers to improve the process
  • Work directly with Aqua Membrane engineers to improve the final product
  • Assemble and roll spiral wound reverse osmosis elements using printed leaves
  • Operate both automated and manual rolling and gluing processes
  • Operate manual and automated cut-off tools to finish elements after rolling
  • Operate semi-automated fiberglass wrapping system for element structure
  • Test each product to ensure performance meets internal specifications
  • Daily activities could include all unit operations or only one
  • Position requires standing and moving most of the day
  • First pass acceptance of printed membrane leaves and finished elements
  • Set up and program polymer printing system
  • Trouble-shoot and basic repair of custom made equipment with help from Production Engineering
  • Understanding of the application of the technology to ensure quality and repeatability in printing process
  • Multi-tasking to be able to print elements and assist in other operation tasks as need – such as internal product testing
