Responsible for analyzing processes and projects in the production of high quality ceramic powders. Communicates technical issues, process and material deviations and equipment challenges in a timely manner to all pertinent personnel (operator, technicians and/or management team members). May work with engineering to resolve technical issues. Performs shrinkage/characterization testing (i.e. moisture, slip weight, viscosity). Identifies and suggests innovative solutions to improve quality, decrease cycle time, and reduce costs. Appropriately interprets and responds to basic SPC control charts and simple capability studies for processes that require the use and application of basic statistical software. Assists in analyzing/troubleshooting systems, processes, product or equipment against the desired results. Proficient in utilizing manufacturing computer to accurately gather and maintain specified records of technical data. Performs computations, plots data, or draws curves, graphs and charts. May set up production machines and test equipment. Utilizes higher math skills to calculate surfaces, volumes, weights, densities and various other measures. Acts as a quality gatekeeper between Engineering and Production to assure all processes are properly followed and materials are manufactured to defined requirements. Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned. May work any and all shifts/days as required.
