A Production Technician is responsible for producing quality formulated products safely and efficiently. They use knowledge of the process, operating procedures, raw materials, and products to control equipment used in the manufacturing process.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Willingness to perform elevated work and work using portable ladders
Willingness to use a full-face respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus, and various other forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ability to perform repetitive motions and lift to 60 lbs.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including required overtime hours and weekends to support business needs
Use control/display screens, process pumps and equipment, and various hand tools

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing or agriculture operations experience, military, or similar experience
Experience operating a fork truck
Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Personal focus on safety, teamwork, and adaptability
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to listen
Able to work without direct supervision in a diverse team environment

Responsibilities

Responsible for the safe operation of chemical processing equipment
Read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Use control/display screens, process pumps and equipment, and various hand tools; Take required samples during the production process
Load/unload railcars and bulk trailers
Troubleshoot problems associated with equipment, processes, and systems
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
Decontaminate equipment and piping for maintenance or disposal
Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the site’s Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards (e.g. general shop floor/machine safety and operating procedures
Issuing work permits to contractors and monitor progress and conditions of contractor work
Conducting process equipment isolation
Operate equipment used to support manufacturing operations (forklift, scissor lift, shuttle wagon, JLG, etc.)
Assist in reviewing and approving key process documentation (operating, start-up and shut-down procedures; process flow and instrumentation diagrams; etc.)
Assist in product changeover activities.
Basics of plant/unit operations and safety equipment.
Performs general housekeeping duties
