About The Position

The Production Technician 3 will be responsible for executing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring product quality within a high-volume production environment. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and a commitment to operational excellence.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in the optical, semiconductor, or electronics industry.
Proven ability to read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
Demonstrated experience with precision hand tools, measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power meters), and automated test equipment.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to problem-solving.
Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail for delicate assembly and handling of components.
Proficient computer skills, including experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Electronics, Optics, Manufacturing Technology) preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform complex assembly, test, and troubleshooting operations on optical and electronic components and sub-assemblies according to established procedures and specifications.
Operate and maintain a variety of production equipment, including automated and semi-automated machinery, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
Conduct in-process inspections and tests, recording data accurately and identifying and resolving discrepancies or defects.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify root causes of production issues, implement corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Document all work performed, including test results, rework, and equipment maintenance, in accordance with quality system requirements.
Train and mentor less experienced production technicians on processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Participate in lean manufacturing activities and initiatives to optimize production efficiency and reduce waste.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
