About The Position

The Production Technician 2 at Lumentum Operations LLC is responsible for performing a variety of production tasks related to the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of optical components and sub-systems, ensuring products meet quality and performance specifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with optical or electronic components.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
Basic computer skills, including experience with data entry and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring extended periods of standing or sitting.

Nice To Haves

Experience with various test equipment (e.g., optical power meters, oscilloscopes, multimeters) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform complex assembly and test operations on optical components and sub-systems, adhering to established procedures and quality standards.
Utilize various hand tools, test equipment, and fixtures to complete assigned tasks.
Conduct routine and non-routine testing, data collection, and analysis to identify and resolve product issues.
Troubleshoot and diagnose failures in products and processes, implementing corrective actions under general supervision.
Operate and maintain production equipment, performing basic preventative maintenance as required.
Accurately record production data, including work-in-progress, test results, and defect information.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Provide training and guidance to less experienced production technicians as needed.
