About The Position

The Tech/Production AD helps provide leadership, direction, and operational oversight for the Production Ministry. Working closely with the Production Director, this role helps ensure that weekend services, events, campuses, production systems, and volunteer teams are prepared to execute with excellence. This position combines strong technical knowledge with leadership, organization, problem-solving, and a passion for developing people. The AD should be able to step into any production environment, identify what is needed, develop the people around them, and help create consistent, distraction-free environments that support the mission and vision of Mercy Hill.

Requirements

  • Full working knowledge of Pro Presenter, Resolume, and Planning Center.
  • Ability to create playlists and design presentations within Pro Presenter and Resolume.
  • Great communication skills are required to obtain accurate content needed for each service.
  • An understanding of service flow, transitions, and content needed to produce a service.
  • They should work well under pressure in and out of a live environment.
  • Full understanding of system networking for video input and output.
  • Ability to fix broken gear, connections, and routing issues when they arise.
  • Ability to maintain gear so that it performs as expected.
  • Strong technical knowledge across multiple production disciplines.
  • Experience leading and developing volunteers or production teams.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills with documentation, file structure, and all other content.
  • Experience designing Pro Presenter and Resolume playlists.
  • Experience scheduling and building service plans in Planning Center.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with routing video systems
  • Experience working with high-end technical gear (computer systems, LED wall, lighting console, audio consoles, etc.)
  • Experience in live production, preferably within a multi-campus church or similarly complex live-event environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Production Director to execute the vision and standards for Production across all campuses.
  • Help oversee technical execution of weekend services, rehearsals, special services, and major events.
  • Ensure production environments are prepared, tested, and ready for service.
  • Work alongside Worship, Creative, Campus, and ministry leaders to ensure production needs are clearly communicated and executed.
  • Serve as a Production Lead/Technical Director for services and events as needed.
  • Help recruit, train, equip, schedule, and develop Production Team volunteers.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of audio, video, lighting, presentation, broadcast, networking, and other production technologies.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and serve as an escalation point for campus Production leaders and volunteers.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment replacement, and system improvements.
  • Maintain documentation for production systems, signal flow, equipment, procedures, and configurations.
  • Assist with AVL installations, upgrades, integrations, and expansion projects.
  • Work with vendors, integrators, and contractors as needed.
  • Help evaluate new technology and make recommendations based on ministry need, reliability, scalability, and stewardship.
