This position is responsible for performing the repair of core and support new recovery processes, by way of the established remanufacturing process. Requirements

  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds . (with assistance from a team member or use of hoist)
  • Ability to perform cast or aluminum weld repairs
  • Select proper electrodes and holders
  • Regulate current and time
  • Must maintain a clean work area.
  • Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
  • Cross train on other jobs as required
  • Ability to operate riveting, torqueing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
  • Read and understand Work Station Instruction documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
  • Previous mechanical & welding experience preferred
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
  • Perform cast and/or aluminum weld repairs
  • Use Arc welder and electrode rods to perform tack and bead welds
  • Use oxygen/acetylene torch for cutting metals
  • Operate hand and power tools to grind, bevel, fit metals together and remove slag
  • Select proper electrodes and holders
  • Regulate current and time
  • May operate crane or hoist to move materials
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position
  • Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
  • Other tasks and/or duties as requested
