The location in Brownsville, (Tennessee, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Production Tech. This job is full-time permanent.

Requirements

  • Successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the packaging line and work closely with the sheeter operator and crew leader to ensure production is safe, efficient, and performed at the lowest possible cost.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping problems made on your shift are cleaned up.
  • Mop or sweep around the packaging equipment as necessary to maintain a clean and safe operation.
  • Fill glue bins daily.
  • Dump trash and trash bins.
  • Blow out each piece of equipment daily (allowed 20min) at 5 o'clock each day.
  • Make and remove Corrugated bail if needed.
  • Have the next set-up ready for the next shift.
  • Perform Extra housekeeping tasks as directed by the crew leader.
  • Work as a member of a team under team concept (to include the large plant team as well as shift teams).
  • Know and abide by all general plant rules, policies and procedures.
  • Properly train other employees at your classification.
  • Perform all assigned quality control duties and assist other crew members in monitoring quality.
  • Ensure materials that may contaminate scrap paper are disposed of properly.
  • Understand all quality control specifications.
  • Never knowingly ship any defective product.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in package area, keeping aisles and floors free of materials and equipment clean.
  • Troubleshoot problems immediately and implement correction action.
  • Notify your crew leader if electrical or mechanical help is required to minimize downtime.
  • Assist the sheeter operator with operations, such as clearing sheeter jams, starting sheeter up, and collecting school grade.
  • Control and reduce lost time on package line.
  • Control cost.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Always leave relief in good operating condition.
  • Give proper relief as designated by the crew leader in areas you are qualified. Maintain area while in relief.
  • Keep lid and body hoppers full.
  • Keep case labeler glue system clean.
  • Keep glue systems full and clean. Keep glue covered.
  • Ensure ream wrap supplies are adequate.
  • Ensure operating supplies are returned to storage after product changes (i.e. labels).
  • Make adjustments to equipment as necessary to maintain a quality product.
  • Check product each hour to ensure quality.
