About The Position

Solid Sealing Technology (SST) designs and manufactures small-scale electrical components used around the world in industrial, medical, and research facilities. These components are used in technologies for equipment such as energy storage systems, MRI machines, and particle accelerators, with some parts even sent to Mars for NASA's Mars Insight Mission. SST has full-time and part-time opportunities available in its Production department. Production Team Members safely perform all assigned production support tasks according to instruction and documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment doing detailed work preferred.
  • Dependable and a motivated team player.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions, etc.
  • Read and understand documentation, including instructional and health and safety documents.
  • Utilize basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Utilize basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, decimals, fractions, etc.
  • Manual dexterity to hold small items and use hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Apply coatings to small ceramic insulators by hand or with automation (Metalizing/Painting).
  • Determine the proper fixture(s) and assembly method(s) needed (Assembly).
  • Assemble components and fixtures in accordance with requirements (Assembly).
  • Ensure each assembly corresponds to the drawing in terms of orientation and alignment (Assembly).
  • Identify the correct testing fixture for the component that will be tested (Leak Test).
  • Ensure the component is free from contaminants (Leak Test).
  • Operate leak detector, testing parts for proper hermetic (air-tight) seal at various stages throughout the production cycle (Leak Test).
  • Determine if the readings are within acceptable limits (Leak Test).
  • Read work instructions, blueprints, and other documentation.
  • Accurately record completed work in computer system.
  • Perform quality checks of visual and dimensional requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procedures and goals are met.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement (OFI); suggest ways to improve processes.
  • Operating equipment such as a grit/sand blaster (Future training).
  • Performing rinsing or cleaning of components and assemblies, manually or in automated equipment including a degreaser (Future training).
