Requirements

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to communicate production issues, counts and weights to supervision or lead personnel.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of GMP and safe food manufacturing practices a plus.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (preferred).
  • Fork Lift/Pallet Jack Certification a plus.
  • Regularly required to stand for 10 or more hours per day and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb or balance.
  • Must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Slicing, stuffing, packaging and boxing of sausage products manually or by mechanical means to produce both work in process and finished goods products.
  • Loading, unloading of materials, packaging and finished goods products from racks or pallets.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including the wearing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as prescribed for each work activity or job.
  • Adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), package, stuff or slice, raw materials to designated weights on an individual package or case weight basis.
  • Meet production performance requirements in a fast paced work environment.
  • Transfers finished products and raw materials to identified location in the plant/warehouse or on production line.
  • Follows all SQF principles pertinent to the position as specified by the SQF Practioner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
