About The Position

The Production Supervisor leads and directs all production activities during the assigned shift. The role is accountable for safe and compliant execution of the production schedule, effective labor deployment, line performance, product yield, material control, accurate documentation, and timely response to operational issues. The Production Supervisor maintains an active presence on the production floor and owns shift execution from start-up through line clearance, documentation completion, and shift handoff. Management is the primary duty of this position. The Production Supervisor customarily and regularly directs at least two full-time employees or their equivalent and provides meaningful input regarding employee selection, assignment, training, performance, recognition, corrective action, advancement, and retention.

Requirements

  • At least three years of manufacturing experience, including supervisory or team-lead responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, workplace safety requirements, and controlled manufacturing procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct at least two full-time employees or their equivalent and manage hourly employee performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, labor planning, line balancing, yield, scrap, downtime, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Ability to use production data and KPIs to identify problems, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Strong leadership, accountability, communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Planning, Maintenance, Research and Development, Human Resources, and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is required to provide instructions, complete production documentation, conduct training, and report safety, quality, and operational issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, operations management, supply chain, food, food science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
  • Experience in dietary supplements, food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, or another regulated manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, ERP, manufacturing execution, or production-reporting systems is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Production Line Team Leads ensure all manufacturing goes smoothly and efficiently by closely monitoring how employees organize their workflows
  • Ensuring that materials and supplies are in a positive flow
  • Ensure that machines are functional, and the production facilities adhere to safety standards
  • Focuses on driving Safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Backfill employees and run machines as needed.
