This specific role is for a Finishing Lead within a Foodservice folding carton manufacturing operation in Elk Grove Village, IL. Requirements

  • Must speak, read, and write in English.
  • Extensive knowledge of Finishing machines and their operation.
  • Ability to communicate with employees and plant management.
  • Good technical knowledge of Finishing machines to help trouble-shoot problems and support other operators with make-ready problems.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. without strain.

  • Must be flexible: Able to work other shifts, overtime, and Saturdays when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the department manager in the operations of the Finishing department.
  • Delegate work and schedule employees on Finishing machines.
  • Communicate with suppliers to order materials.
  • Work with the maintenance department to help repair machines, obtain parts, and discuss problems.
  • Fill in for the department manager in their absence.
  • Prepare daily work schedule, including jobs to run and jobs needing to be finished.
  • Attend production and hot-list meetings to determine job priorities and discuss production problems.
  • Troubleshoot problems with Finishing machines and support other operators with make-ready issues.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and plant management.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures related to the production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions that could result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority.
