About The Position

The Production Team Lead will be responsible for providing onsite support and direction in designated production areas. Under the direction of the production supervisor, this position will be coordinating, overseeing, and motivating their team, and operating equipment to achieve daily production objectives and goals with Safety, Quality, Waste, and OEE. This role will support production supervisors with on-the-floor presence in overseeing daily operations, delegating tasks, providing guidance and support, and ensuring effective communication within the team. Team leaders often serve as a point of contact for team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The production Team Lead must communicate effectively with all employees and supervisors and work within established procedures and guidelines for safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have completed the Machine Operator Qualification training for the applicable area of responsibility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft programs, and ERP/ Deacom.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and safely lift up to 50 lbs. throughout a shift.
  • Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a production team.
  • Relieve team members for breaks and fill in for absentees.
  • Leading and motivating team members to achieve their objectives, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Under the direction of the production supervisor and/or Operations Manager, the Team Lead will assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Under the direction of the production supervisor and/or Operations Manager, the Team Lead will lead daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Facilitating clear and effective communication within the team and with other stakeholders (QA, Warehouse and Maintenance).
  • Per company policies and procedures, maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Providing feedback, training, and guidance to team members to enhance their performance and development.
  • Under the direction of the production supervisor and/or Operations Manager, the Team Lead will ensure all team members are following all Company Handbook policies and procedures. Report any concerns to the production supervisor or Human Resources for follow-up.
  • Under the direction of the production supervisor and/or Operations Manager, the Team Lead will ensure all team members are following Safety, Quality, and GMP procedures. Report any concerns to the production supervisor or Human Resources for follow-up.
  • Works with receiving and coordinating Raw Materials to staging area.
  • Performs end of Job Cycle Counts.
  • Provides good collaborations with other teams and shifts.
  • Serve as a liaison in the identification and resolution recommendations in the execution of projects.
  • Respond to equipment stops/breakdowns and help with troubleshooting.
  • Identify and drive Continuous Improvement Opportunities.
  • May be involved in training new team members and supporting their ongoing development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety, employee safety, and quality issues.
