Production Team Lead Afternoon Shift
About The Position
Assists in supervision of departmental production personnel; performs all duties under direction from the department supervisor. This role involves performing moderately complex tasks related to set-up, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, including resolving technical and quality issues. The Production Team Lead will also assist in operating machinery when needed, ensure production records are completed accurately, and maintain communication between shifts. This role serves as a liaison between the team and plant management, assists with data collection and reporting, and ensures workstations are adequately supplied. The Team Lead will reassign team members due to absences or production needs, inspect materials, final products, and machinery for defects, and implement process improvement initiatives. They will guide the manufacturing/operations team in interpreting existing processes and policies, assist in developing efficiencies, and ensure department output meets organizational expectations. Adherence to 5S standards, safety, environmental, and quality policies is crucial. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Perform work under minimal supervision.
- Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possess comprehensive working knowledge of subject matter.
- 4 to 6 years of experience, including experience driving powered industrial equipment.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
- Ability to interpret work instructions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate mathematical skills.
- Intermediate use of required gaging instruments and the application of such instruments.
- Manual dexterity.
- Leadership skills.

Responsibilities

- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
