About The Position
The Production Team Lead supports daily manufacturing operations by leading production employees, maintaining safety and quality standards, and helping achieve production goals. This hands-on leadership role provides direction, training, and support while promoting a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment. The position is located in Elgin, Illinois, and works a day shift from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing experience is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate a team.

- Basic computer and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and stand for long periods during scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities
- Ensure product quality, labeling, packaging, and traceability standards are met; address quality issues, support daily production goals, and monitor scrap and production performance.
- Ensure daily equipment inspections and autonomous maintenance tasks are completed, promptly escalate equipment issues, and support maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Lead production employees by setting clear expectations for safety, quality, and productivity while promoting teamwork, accountability, and effective communication.
- Support onboarding, training, and cross-training; communicate priorities, safety concerns, and shift handoff information to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain proper material flow, prevent material shortages and mix-ups, and support 5S standards by keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Complete production, scrap, downtime, and quality documentation; ensure work orders are completed on time; and support continuous improvement and standard work practices.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor.
- Lead with professionalism, fairness, and accountability.
- Remain calm and solution-focused during operational challenges.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment.
