About The Position

The Production Support Technician – POS Device Functional Tester role plays a critical part in the triage, testing, programming, and deprovisioning of POS hardware within a fast‑paced production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring devices are fully restored, properly configured, and meet strict quality standards prior to redeployment.

Requirements

  • Availability to work one of the following shifts: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse, or technical environment OR technical or computer software education/training
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and perform repetitive, hands‑on tasks
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment
  • Must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with ISO 9001 quality processes
  • 2+ years of electronics refurbishment, repair, or device processing experience
  • Hands‑on experience with POS hardware or similar electronic equipment
  • Familiarity with quality control, screening, and testing processes
  • Ability to follow technical documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Previous experience in a production, assembly line, or warehouse environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform triage and functional testing on returned POS devices to assess operability and condition
  • Download, configure, and test units following defined procedures and technical documentation
  • Install and run appropriate test programs to ensure full device functionality
  • Deprovision devices by fully erasing prior programs, data, or customer information
  • Inspect devices for cosmetic defects and quality issues, documenting failures as required
  • Rework or route devices appropriately based on testing and inspection outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with quality control standards and production timelines
