About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and managing resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime during their shift. This role involves overseeing manufacturing processes, ensuring quality and productivity, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The supervisor will also be responsible for training, mentoring, and managing shift supervisors and associates, while enforcing company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of quality tools (corrective actions, PFMEA, PDCA, 5 Why..)
  • Understanding of regulations and ISO standards
  • Mastery of injection molding, machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment
  • Computer skills (Office)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Willingness to follow managerial instructions
  • Ability to handle stress
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, cooperative, and stable demeanor when dealing with others

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime during shift.
  • Stop production to correct quality problems or when they cannot be corrected immediately.
  • Notify QC technicians of quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Supervise manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, productivity, and health/safety standards are met while meeting customer requirements.
  • Start up and stop molding machines.
  • Perform tooling, automation, and material changeovers.
  • Ensure that parting line cleanings and other TPM activities are completed.
  • Analyze defects and downtime causes and troubleshoot processes using problem-solving methods.
  • Implement and document valid process changes and follow up to ensure desired results.
  • Monitor and analyze scrap rates and efficiency reports.
  • Maintain good molding practices including TPM, process control and limits, auto control, mold start up process, and scrap management.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies.
  • Coordinate temporary labor.
  • Propose and participate actively in continuous improvement activities.
  • Promote performance improvement on the floor.
  • Propose and schedule training.
  • Supervise and mentor shift supervisors.
  • Ensure that quality, health/safety, and other applicable procedures are applied.
  • Maintain the production area clean and organized.
  • Participate actively in management reviews, projects reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and supervise the Production shift, communicating production priorities and challenges within the organization.
  • Apply and ensure the application of quality, environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Manage timekeeping, interviewing, hiring, and training of associates.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline; address concerns and resolve issues.
