About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of high-quality products. This role provides direct leadership to production team members, drives operational excellence, and fosters a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. This role requires leadership, strategic thinking and problem solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of leadership experience in Manufacturing or Operations. Or Associates degree with 3 years of leadership experience in Manufacturing or Operations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, Engineering drawings, etc.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as needed for the supervisory area assigned.
  • Ability to use computer equipped with business systems and databases.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Honesty – understand the importance of openness and transparency. Leading by example
  • Communication skills, to be able to clearly communicate priorities to each member of their team.
  • Decisiveness, able to make tough choices regularly and to make difficult decisions quickly after doing due diligence and assessing all of the options.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and forecasts production activities and priorities and establishes manpower requirements based on upcoming workloads to achieve the customer promised ship date.
  • Drives operational excellence: Ability to design processes, evaluate results and drive solutions to improve the business. Leads continuous improvement efforts using various lean tools.
  • Collaborates across functions: Works closely with manufacturing engineering, engineering, supply chain, production planning, etc.
  • Supports the quick resolution of project issues. If necessary, using technical experts or elevate the issues to the attention of higher levels of management.
  • Requisitions materials and other equipment to achieve schedules.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Develop and lead team members: Manage, Review and evaluate performance of staff members by providing appropriate advice, training, and guidance.
  • Coaches employees and leads through improvement efforts.
  • Ensures safety policies and procedures are enforced and improved.
  • Executes to quality standards and understands how to apply quality management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
