Our Fort Wayne facility is a union manufacturing plant with approximately 155 employees operating on three shifts. The site is a pouring and specialized post processing operation. Capabilities include pouring, fabricating, felting, reticulation (2 styles) and block. As a key location within FXI’s manufacturing network, the Fort Wayne plant is known for its strong focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence. Team members work in a collaborative, supportive environment where continuous improvement and innovation play a central role.

Requirements

  • Ability to read/write/speak/understand English.
  • Degree in Management, a related field, or equivalent on the job experience.
  • 3-5 years supervisor experience in manufacturing field required.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP experience is plus, preferred experience with SAP.
  • Lean experience preferred
  • Experience working in unionized environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees complete required training, including safety, onboarding, and on-the-job training, accurately and on time.
  • Enforce safety, environmental, quality, and 5S standards; conduct inspections, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
  • Supervise daily production operations to meet schedules, maximize output, foam yield, and control costs and overtime.
  • Monitor employee performance, complete hourly performance reviews, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manage workforce planning by adjusting manpower to production needs and coordinating overtime and call-ins as required.
  • Oversee production flow, order distribution, and ensure accurate shipment completion, documentation, and bill of lading sign-off.
  • Communicate effectively with employees regarding work requirements, policies, safety updates, and operational changes.
  • Identify equipment issues, submit maintenance work orders, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain administrative accuracy, including time and attendance entries, documentation, and reporting.
  • Act as a leader and team supervisor to resolve production issues, support problem-solving, and drive operational excellence.
