About The Position

The Swing Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for executing the production plan and coordinating process, people, and performance to achieve production quality and uptime standards on the shift. This role ensures that shift operations are performed according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. The supervisor will assist in enforcing food safety programs, GMP policy, and personnel hygiene policies, ensuring the proper use, care, and documentation of equipment and materials. They will also support onboarding, training, and reviewing efforts, fostering a team-oriented environment to achieve department objectives. Key duties include organizing work for smooth operations, maintaining clean and orderly work areas, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, and verifying accurate and timely documentation. The role also involves supporting company, department, and safety initiatives, continuously seeking process improvement opportunities, and performing other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Disciplined approach to safety, quality, delivery and costs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as GMP guidance, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to learn and understand company information technology systems.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently, and 75+ pounds with assistance, on a daily basis.
  • Ability to lift, twist, crawl, reach, grab, bend, stoop, climb, or perform similar activities as needed and stand for long periods.

  • Developing a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives.
  • Organizing work for smooth operations, which includes maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
  • Ensuring that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
  • Verifying that proper documentation is completed accurately, timely, and properly filed.
  • Supporting and participating in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Continuously looking for opportunities to improve current processes.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned and needed to support operations.
