About The Position

The Production Supervisor – Sawmill is responsible for direct supervision of a team of hourly employees, including safety, production, and quality goals. The Production Supervisor is committed to continuous improvement in safety, cost management, process improvement, plant scheduling, production flows, staffing and housekeeping. This will be a night shift role.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience in an industrial environment
Leadership skills that include a proven ability to coach employees to a higher level of performance
Good planning, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities
Experience in routine manufacturing concepts such as housekeeping, ergonomics and labor efficiency
Effective problem-solving techniques and ability to make process improvement recommendations
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
Committed to professional ethical standards
Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set

Responsibilities

Providing daily leadership and oversight of hourly production employees to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
Ensuring proper job and safety rules are followed.
Fostering a positive work environment and ensuring open communication among associates by role-modeling Core Values and People Principles.
Leading safety and other team meetings.
Balancing labor resources to ensure continuous improvement in safety, quality, and production.
Setting performance expectations for the team that directly support the mill goals.
Actively assigning work and evaluating job performance.
Supporting, coaching, and providing timely feedback and direction to employees.
Ensuring compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state, and local laws, and regulations.
