Requirements

High school diploma required
3–7+ years of experience in manufacturing or production environment
2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a production setting
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production flow, and equipment operations
Experience working with production KPIs (OEE, throughput, scrap reduction, downtime tracking)
Strong leadership skills with ability to coach, motivate, and manage diverse teams
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments
Knowledge of workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA or equivalent local standards)
Ability to read and interpret production schedules, technical documents, and SOPs
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Basic computer skills
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, or extended hours as required
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Ability to respond quickly to production issues and operational emergencies

Nice To Haves

post-secondary education in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or Six Sigma principles is an asset
experience with ERP or MES systems is an asset

Responsibilities

Supervise daily production activities to ensure targets for safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently met
Lead, coach, and develop a team of production operators, fostering a positive and accountable work environment
Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and machine utilization to optimize productivity and minimize downtime
Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations; implement corrective actions
Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution
Analyze production data and KPIs (e.g., OEE, scrap rates, throughput) to identify improvement opportunities
Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices
Ensure product quality standards are maintained through adherence to SOPs and quality control processes
Train new employees and provide ongoing performance feedback and evaluations
Manage shift schedules, attendance, and labor allocation to meet production demands
Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate critical problems when necessary
Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation
Support inventory control and material flow to prevent shortages or overstock situations
Drive cost reduction efforts while maintaining operational excellence
Other duties as assigned.
