Requirements

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role with a strong background in blown film or other extrusion or printing operations and production floor supervision.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a changing environment with strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative.
  • Results driven, effective decision maker.
  • Strong desire to train, coach and develop others to improve performance.
  • Ability to work any shift as needed.
  • Maintenance and mechanical ability to troubleshoot.
  • Must be able to use the following computer programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate accurately and professionally with all levels of the organization.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience.
  • Experience in Blown Film Industry preferred but any extrusion or printing background is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with Lean, SixSigma or other relevant continuous improvement methods and tools a plus.
  • Previous experience with Troubleshooting processes, 5 Why, 8D or other is a plus.
  • Technical training a plus; mechanical and/or electrical.
  • Industrial Safety Training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and motivating the production team to exceed commitments and goals.
  • Monitoring the day-to-day production activities to ensure that production efficiency goals are being met (EFF & MEEF), safety protocols are being followed, and quality product is being produced timely and meeting customer expectations.
  • Planning and controlling production performance as measured against operating targets developed according to machine capabilities, manpower capabilities and projected business.
  • Ensuring compliance to established customer quality and production standards.
  • Actively leading and participating in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean manufacturing programs and cost savings initiatives by ensuring goals are met within the plant.
  • Ensuring completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.
  • Planning, organizing, executing and leading all assigned areas within the plant.
  • Accountable to plan and execute to meet required safety, quality, delivery, production, cost and communication objectives.
  • Meeting production schedules within budgeted allocation.
  • Ensuring appropriate on-the-job training and development of crew members is satisfied.
  • Addressing mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues within department.
  • Training, motivating and mentoring employees.
  • Conducting training of new and existing employees.
  • Supervising employees in the day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
  • Maintaining and improving production throughput and working with Production/Plant Manager to maintain direct labor cost.
  • Providing support for on the job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring Company policies, safety, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Policies (GMPs) are implemented, understood and followed.
  • Maintaining a positive working environment among employees.
  • Maintaining all required logs and reporting documentation and adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Adhering to all Company safety regulations and policies.
