About The Position

Acme Industries is seeking a hands-on, people-focused Production Supervisor to lead CNC machining operations in their precision metals manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for supervising daily production activities, supporting and developing the operator team, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge, a passion for leadership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The hourly pay range is $31.00-$37.00 per hour, with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC Machining or a metal manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and setup principles.
  • Understanding lean manufacturing concepts (5S, standard work, waste reduction).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and manage shop floor workflows.
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written) in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Experience using ERP or MES systems and labor reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily CNC machining operations to ensure production targets are met as directed by the Production Manager.
  • Communicate job priorities and work instructions clearly to machine operators; verify completion and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support operators in machine setup, changeovers, and problem-solving as needed.
  • Monitor process adherence and enforce safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, and training of new employees; promote cross-training to increase flexibility.
  • Provide daily coaching, feedback, and mentorship to team members; manage performance and administer discipline as needed.
  • Foster a positive team culture through active employee engagement and conflict resolution.
  • Drive and participate in continuous improvement efforts, document improvement ideas and results.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions related to production inefficiencies or non-conformance.
  • Support hiring by participating in interviews and candidate evaluations.
  • Monitor attendance and enforce timekeeping compliance.
  • Manage overtime and labor resources to meet production demands efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate labor reporting and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Perform or support basic machine setups when required.
