About The Position

As our 3rd Shift Team Leader for our Assembly Zone, you'll ensure smooth operations and a safe, efficient work environment. You’ll be on the floor checking in with cell leads, understanding what’s happening in your zone, and driving improvements where needed. In this role, you’ll work closely with your team to close performance gaps, reinforce safety and quality standards, and build consistency across shifts. Through coaching, problem-solving, and daily Leader Standard Work, you’ll help the team meet customer expectations while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing floor experience
  • At least 1-2 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to motivate and guide teams to solve problems, close gaps, and sustain improvements
  • People management skills including holding others accountable, recognizing achievements, and developing talent
  • Formal problem-solving training and ability to coach others in applying it
  • Hands-on leadership style
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to inspire others to perform at their best

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or in Operations Management

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and clean working environment by training and enforcing safety policies.
  • Deliver to customer expectations by enforcing and calibrating the team on quality standards.
  • Escalate barriers and problems of man, method, materials, and machine systemic issues.
  • Prepare for next shift and report abnormalities to ensure a smooth hand-off.
  • Observe team members and ensure accountability to standards through regular performance feedback.
  • Recognize and celebrate behaviors and results that support our culture or brand.
  • Organize and plan daily Zone staffing/execution to meet customer demand and achieve SQDC goals.
  • Use Leader Standard Work (LSW) to drive Zone actions, containing problems timely and resolving effectively or ensuring proper escalation.
  • Communicate with counterparts to identify potential problems and key actions.
  • Use observation (LSW) and data to assist team members to identify waste and facilitate improvements.
  • Demonstrate PDCA thinking through the prioritization of “just do it” actions, 4-steps, and kaizen events.
  • Identify and facilitate development opportunities for team members utilizing the skills matrix.
  • Listen to your teams to serve their needs.
  • Create an environment where team members are engaged and developing to their fullest potential.
  • Work at the right level to drive improvement between Zones.
