About The Position

Under the direction of the Lead Supervisor and General Manager, the Bilingual - English/Spanish Production Supervisor directs the overall operations ensuring the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with the company quality standards and customer delivery requirements. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

Requirements

  • An Associates Degree or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn new skills as needed.
  • One to two years of training.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solves problems, and instruct or train lesser skilled employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as part drawings, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence.
  • Ability to write standard reports and documentation.
  • Must be Spanish bilingual.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to operate various equipment to include computer, various precision measuring devices and lifting devices.
  • Broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices.
  • Knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/TS and quality system requirements and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
  • Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s standards for quality, quantity, safety, and ISO/TS.
  • Participate in planning meetings, recommending space, personnel, and equipment requirements. Be part of the hiring process.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO/TS procedures and requirements, participate in ISO/TS planning sessions.
  • Recommend preventative maintenance procedures and plan the repair of machines and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.
  • Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
  • Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as time cards, quality records, etc.
  • Approve vacation schedules.
  • Enforce safety regulations.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Conduct employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
  • Conduct employee probationary and eight-month performance reviews.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Manage Master Technicians and Manufacturing Technicians.
