About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for owning shift performance, including safety, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, and waste. This role involves leading daily shift startup, execution, and handoff to ensure consistency across all shifts. The supervisor will actively manage line performance in real time, monitor run rates and output, identify and address downtime, and escalate issues quickly when needed. A key aspect of this role is driving adherence to standard work, operating procedures, and GMP requirements, ensuring all products meet defined quality standards. The supervisor will also partner closely with Maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and rapid response to issues, enforce safety standards, and ensure compliance with all EHS requirements. Additionally, the role involves leading and developing front-line employees through coaching, accountability, and clear performance expectations, ensuring proper staffing and positioning of employees to meet production targets. Driving labor efficiency, minimizing waste, and conducting daily communication with team members are also crucial responsibilities. The Production Supervisor will support and drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain accurate and timely reporting of shift performance, and collaborate cross-functionally with FSQA, Maintenance, and Warehouse. Holding team members accountable to performance, behavior, and attendance standards, and supporting onboarding and training of new employees are also key duties. This position may require minimal travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar fields.
  • Ability to interface effectively with plant personnel, outside contractors, and different functional groups within the business units.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems, finance, statistical process control, and KPI management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety & quality compliance.
  • Must be very effective working in a volatile and complex environment and work with a sense of urgency that drives effective results.
  • Strong influence management and communication skills, ability to gain organizational buy-in
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project.
  • Experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry preferred.

  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of shift performance, including downtime, output, and key KPIs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FSQA, Maintenance, and Warehouse to ensure smooth operations
  • Hold team members accountable to performance, behavior, and attendance standards
  • Support onboarding and training of new employees to build a capable and reliable workforce
  • Perform other duties as assigned or of a similar nature or level
