About The Position

Responsible for first-line direction of non-exempt employees involved in production, assembly, subassembly, or fabrication operations. Reviews production schedules, material, and manpower resources. Assigns employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality, and attain output requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and 5 years of production/manufacturing/assembly experience including 1 year of production leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of assembly design, parts, and processes including plastics, sheet metal brazing, molding, and finishing.
Knowledge of operational machinery and equipment.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of process improvement tools (e.g., lean manufacturing, Six Sigma).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and waste targets; and quality standards.
Monitors the volume and quality of output and adjusts tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production specifications are met, and resources are used efficiently.
Informs assigned employees of production and material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve problems affecting schedules.
Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
Maintains a variety of reports, records, and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, and methods.
Supervises staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed, and all machines and equipment are operated safely.
Trains new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.
