About The Position

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of all production activities and staff. The Production Supervisor will motivate and encourage production members to achieve and maintain maximum production levels. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safety and welfare of all employees, process efficiency, the quality and quantity of all products produced, cost control and effective communication with his or her superiors, peers, and direct reports, and address maintenance issues. This position will oversee and assist with the daily Plant operations including Continuous Improvement activities. This position will work in 12 hour rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation activities.

Requirements

  • Three to five years' experience in OSB manufacturing or within the wood products industry
  • Solid understanding of all processes related to production and manufacturing in general
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Proactive and enthusiastic with demonstrated collaborative leadership skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill
  • Results-driven.
  • Proven ability to initiate and foster cooperation within and between departments.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers is required.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching production team members to promote continual growth and development.
  • Promoting, adhering to, and contributing to plant safety programs and ensuring compliance with Standard Safety Operating Procedures.
  • Driving quality improvements in waste reduction and elimination, auditing finished goods, preparing finished product for move to warehouse, and identifying and addressing opportunities for Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining work flow by monitoring process, setting process variables, observing control points and equipment, communicating clear job expectations, scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, and reporting results on shift production summaries.
  • Managing daily task delegation, developing programs for production with associated training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to maximize member learning, productivity, and advancement of skill level and knowledge. Ensuring every member is trained in applying the Company’s quality standards and safety policies and practices, performance/behavior evaluations, disciplinary issues, and approving payroll for all production operators.
  • Working closely with Facility Engineering and Maintenance to identify potential problems, streamline processes, and implement improvement suggestions and activities.
