About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Production Department, maintaining daily production and labor inputs, coordinating daily planning and production schedules, training and supervising all non-maintenance employees and contractors, and communicating interdepartmentally to accomplish common goals. This role also drives the efficiency of equipment at the highest quality possible. The supervisor will also be responsible for employee relations, including supervising Production staff, performance management, evaluations, cultivating a positive work culture, providing daily performance feedback, coaching, mentoring, and managing disciplinary issues. They will plan daily manpower assignments to maintain production and control labor costs. The Production Supervisor will regularly review progress with the Plant Manager regarding goals of Executive Leadership, preserve the safety and integrity of the Company, and lead employees toward continuous improvement. Additionally, they will enforce safety requirements, provide leadership to evaluate and correct quality issues, oversee personnel safety, evaluate and document incidents, and ensure adherence to food safety programs, policies, and PPE. Machine cleaning and housekeeping procedures are also under their purview, and they will serve on the Safety Committee. Other duties may be assigned by the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing (packaging environment a plus).
  • 3+ years’ prior Supervisory experience.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer (MS Office) and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset (Lean, 7S, Six Sigma).
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills for Quality issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Flexibility in hours to accomplish required objectives.
  • Understand the required compliance components for AIB, SFI and ISO.
  • Competent in the use of the company’s Amtech and Quality System software and processes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Management, Packaging, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Plan daily manpower assignments to maintain production and control labor cost.
  • Regularly review progress with the Plant Manager regarding goals of Executive Leadership.
  • Preserve the safety and integrity of the Company.
  • Lead employees toward continuous improvement in systems, equipment, and performance.
  • Enforce Safety requirements within the facility.
  • Provide primary leadership to evaluate, correct and communicate quality issues.
  • Oversee Safety of all personnel, evaluating and documenting all incidents and near misses.
  • Follow and support all food safety programs, policies and PPE as designated.
  • Ensure machine cleaning and zone housekeeping procedures are followed throughout the plant.
  • Serve and participate on the Safety Committee.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
