About The Position

Fairbanks Morse Defense is a mission-driven company specializing in naval power technology. We are seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead our team at Hunt Valve, which designs and manufactures proprietary valve technology for critical industrial applications. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong leadership to ensure safety, meet production schedules, and maintain high-quality standards. The supervisor will be the primary authority on the floor during the 2nd shift, managing union employees, coordinating with the day shift supervisor, and serving as a technical expert in machining operations. This position demands the ability to address error codes, adjust offsets, and resolve mechanical issues independently, as well as manage the setup and operation of multi-axis lathes and horizontal mills. The goal is to lead the team to hit production goals while ensuring all parts meet stringent quality standards and tight tolerances. The supervisor will also oversee 3-5 employees in non-destructive testing (NDT), inspection, and storeroom departments, ensuring their efficient operation with a focus on safety and quality.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years equivalent work experience in mechanical or related Engineering field from an accredited institution.
1-5 Years (5+ preferred) in a CNC Manufacturing/Engineering Environment.
Ability to competently perform all the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery.
Ability to work productively as a member of a team or work group.
Must provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship (to meet NOFORN requirement). Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
