About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Production Supervisor – 1st Shift to join our team located onsite in St. Cloud, MN. This role is for a leader who loves solving problems, building great teams, and making things run better every day. The Production Supervisor will lead a talented production team, ensure quality products are delivered on time, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities include coaching employees, developing future leaders, and driving Lean manufacturing and safety initiatives, making a visible impact from day one.

Requirements

5 -7 years of manufacturing experience
at least 3 years of supervisory experience
Strong leadership and communication skills
attention to detail
results oriented
Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Inventory, Continuous Improvement, and ERP systems.

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

Investigate all accidents, injuries, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Interview candidates and assist with new hire training.
Complete performance evaluations annually.
Manage conflict, create consistency within your department, and provide direction to your work centers daily.
Communicate and cooperate with other leadership regarding production, material flow, maintenance, etc.
Monitor priority dispatch and customer service requirements.
Identify, analyze, and act to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, and maintenance problems.
Counsel, motivate, and instruct departmental personnel in machine operations and concerns through daily interaction.
Proactively present ideas and information concisely and clearly in both oral and written form.
Work effectively with peers and all levels of management to achieve divisional objectives and promote teamwork.
Establish base data for department budgets, forecast, manage assets, and control expenses per budgetary guidelines.
Maintain documentation to support all department activities.
Operate various types of production equipment.
