About The Position

Oversee and assist Shift Leaders and Operators to ensure organizational commitments regarding people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met. Collaborate with other departments to determine, analyze, and mitigate issues within the Rail Department. Responsible for ensuring that company policy and procedures are enforced and adhered to. This position will be a 12-hour rotating shift (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, etc.) on nights from 6:15pm to 6:45am.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum 1 year leadership Experience required.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Help drive team development effectively
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree from 2-year college/university
  • 3 plus years of manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, direction, and oversight to the Rail Team to ensure company objectives are attained regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Assigns work assignments to the Team Leaders and Operators.
  • Ensures plant safety procedures are followed in order to promote personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Practices strong engagement with direct reports and team members including promoting diversity, sharing responsibility for success, demonstrating honesty and integrity, helping employees solve problems and showing respect.
  • Provides training to Shift Leaders and Operators.
  • Ensures compliance regarding preventive maintenance and general maintenance as required.
  • Performs safety checks on all machinery in the department and reports safety issues as needed.
  • Identifies maintenance requirements and works with maintenance to repair equipment as required.
  • Performs administrative duties and processes all required forms/paperwork.
  • Assists Operations to ensure production schedule is followed and executed completely and on time.
  • Ensures housekeeping duties are performed on the plant floor.
  • Understands, supports, and follows all company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Works with management team to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other assignments as directed.
