About The Position

Under the supervision of the production manager, deploy and manage plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with the Midway Production System (MPS) values and philosophy. Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the safety, quality, efficiency, and people of the assigned area. Ensures all employees have been given the necessary tools to perform duties, i.e. personal protective equipment, small tools, accurate work instructions, & quality alerts. Treats all team members with respect & dignity.

Requirements

Supervision of the production manager.
Effective operations consistent with the Midway Production System (MPS) values and philosophy.
Meeting key metric goals.
Day-to-day decisions impacting safety, quality, efficiency, and people.
Developing, training, coaching, appraising, and motivating team leaders and team members.
Developing, executing, and sustaining the 5S plan.
Investigation of work-related accidents and compiling reports.
Communication with Quality regarding processes/procedures.
Effective utilization of resources (maintenance, tooling, engineering, quality, & materials).
Maximizing value-added activities and customer satisfaction.
Providing employees with necessary tools (PPE, small tools, work instructions, quality alerts).
Analyzing data and managing operating performance through problem-solving.
Leading and/or participating in continuous improvement activities.
Fair and equitable distribution of work.
Adherence to escalation procedures.
Updating and reporting production data, variances, and general information.
Adherence to overtime planning and communication process.
Respect and dignity towards all team members.

Responsibilities

Develop a plan to meet key metric goals.
Make day-to-day decisions that directly impact the safety, quality, efficiency, and people of the assigned area.
Develop, train, coach, appraise, and motivate team leaders and team members in the performance of their respective roles.
Develop, execute, and sustain the 5S plan.
Conduct investigation of work-related accidents and compile report on results.
Communicate with Quality to ensure consistent application of quality processes/procedures.
Ensure all resources (maintenance, tooling, engineering, quality, & materials) are effectively utilized to maximize all value-added activities that support the overall business needs with high emphasis on customer satisfaction.
Ensure all employees have been given the necessary tools to perform duties, i.e. personal protective equipment, small tools, accurate work instructions, & quality alerts.
Analyze data and manage operating performance through the use of the problem-solving process by leading, highlighting opportunities/possible solutions and empowering others to make improvements.
Lead and/or participate in activities or projects that promote continuous improvement.
Distribute all work in a fair and equitable manner.
Adhere to the escalation procedures designated by the plant and or department manager.
Update and report out on production data, variances to target and / or general information.
Adhere to overtime planning and communication process.
Treat all team members with respect & dignity.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
