The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning and coordinating work, training, motivating, monitoring, and evaluating the performance of forming employees. This role ensures employees can safely operate equipment to produce product, and involves counseling, recording, and disciplining as necessary. The supervisor will develop Production Leads to oversee daily routines in their absence, conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate changes and company information, and attend Tier Meetings to provide updates. A key responsibility is creating training plans for new hires and supporting onboarding. The supervisor must be alert to production problems and take corrective action, maintaining an active presence on the production floor (at least 50% of the time) to support employees and build positive relationships. This role also involves maintaining shift reports/records, ensuring necessary supplies are on hand, and establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient personnel structure and staffing level. The supervisor will interview and recommend applicants for hire, create and modify shift schedules, and collaborate with others to develop and implement improvements and cost-saving ideas. They must maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment, ensure policies and procedures are followed, and be responsible for all processes, equipment, employee safety, housekeeping, and meeting production quality and quantity standards. Budgeting, business planning, and establishing/meeting department goals and objectives are also key. The supervisor will review and ensure SPC data and Production reports are completed. This position directly supervises 18-30 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Other duties as assigned.
