About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high level of quality and service within the production department. This role involves overseeing daily tasks, participating in production meetings, managing inventory, and contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the supervisor plays a key role in team development, including hiring, performance reviews, mentorship, and training programs for Exhibit Associates and Exhibit Associate Supervisors.

  • Management experience with a medium-size team (10-20 people)

Responsibilities

  • Hold employees accountable for tool maintenance, packing material, workspace cleanliness, and compliance with the lean/5S program.
  • Work to reduce waste and increase customer satisfaction through process improvements.
  • Oversee the setup and photography of displays, ensuring they meet Orbus quality standards.
  • Improve SOPs for producing and finishing new products.
  • Ensure high-quality product output and adherence to order specifications (finishing specs, size, quality, etc.).
  • Keep jobs on track, meet deadlines for finishing and other departments, and achieve hourly UPLH goals.
  • Meet all shipping and trucking deadlines.
  • Actively participate in Daily Graphics Meetings, Weekly Production Meetings, UPLH & Afternoon Huddles.
  • Maintain the production schedule and plan work accordingly.
  • Set expectations for labor guidelines, including overtime needs, weekend on-call schedules, holiday/vacation coverage, and limiting overtime/temp labor.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels by following BC processes and performing monthly cycle counts.
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement within the department.
  • Create lean efficiencies and assembly line production workflows.
  • Support the Continuous Improvement culture by participating in and overseeing the 5S audit process, and participating in Orbus Ideas/Poke Yokes.
  • Partially responsible for hiring decisions of Exhibit Associates, conducting first interviews and making recommendations.
  • Write and deliver performance reviews for Exhibit Associate Supervisors and Exhibit Associates.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Exhibit Associate Supervisors through bi-weekly one-on-one meetings.
  • Create/maintain training and cross-training plans for Exhibit Associates, including daily operating procedures, maintenance expectations, and quality standards.
  • Work with the Director of Graphic Operations to create and implement processes and work instructions.
  • Create and maintain training matrix documentation.
  • Recognize when team members require further training and work with the leadership team to determine action plans.
  • Create plans for new hire training.
