About The Position

Leads shift operations to ensure efficient production and execution of routine tasks, including 5S activities, while maintaining compliance with key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, product quality, and safety standards. Aligns daily assignments with the weekly production schedule, ensuring compounders are effectively deployed and all required raw materials are available on site. Oversees production process and flow of finished goods into the appropriate containers. Leads the 5S and lean initiative on the production floor. Clearly communicates production issues and schedule to all levels of the organization. Completes end of shift reports and set-up of schedule for next shift hand off. Interacts with the QC lab and interprets specifications to make judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process. Implements departmental safety and EH&S programs to ensure the safety of employees working in the area. Directs all personnel related actions including training, performance appraisal and professional development. Collects data and reports on department metrics such as kg/man-hr and schedule compliance Completes analysis on production issues that affect safety and quality including near miss follow up and “right first time” via root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Expertise in the development, production, and application of industrial process fluids, lubricants, and coatings
  • Experience working with large industrial and manufacturing companies (aerospace, automotive, primary metal, energy)
  • Ability to lead shift operations
  • Knowledge of 5S activities
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (on-time delivery, product quality, safety standards)
  • Ability to align daily assignments with production schedules
  • Skill in deploying personnel and managing raw material availability
  • Ability to oversee production processes and flow of goods
  • Experience leading 5S and lean initiatives
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to complete end-of-shift reports
  • Experience interacting with QC labs and interpreting specifications
  • Knowledge of safety and EH&S programs
