About The Position

Provides leadership and task direction to nonexempt production team members in support of team safety, quality, production, and problem-solving issues while insuring that customer expectations are met. Warn Industries is a fully committed team-based organization. The Production Supervisor must be a leader and a coach. Production Supervisor is accountable to Director of Manufacturing Operations for production team performance and s/he must accomplish team objectives through team leadership and development.

Requirements

  • Three or more year’s proven success in a supervisory and/or managerial role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior leadership training or experience required.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have career history demonstrating stability in employment and success in assignments.
  • Familiarity with supervisory roles and responsibilities.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills to effectively present ideas and document activities in a professional and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used business software products such as spreadsheets, word-processing and database management.

  • Must have mathematical skills to perform basic business math and industrial statistics.

  • College coursework preferred (Lean Manufacturing, APICS, Quality Systems preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Reviews production schedules to meet production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
  • Assigns team members to specific tasks to support production plan as provided by the manufacturing manager.
  • Develops, maintains, and delivers team member development and performance evaluations to provide personal growth and enhance team capabilities.
  • With the support of the Manufacturing Manager, participates in employment, training, team member motivation, counseling and discipline of team members supervised.
  • Responsible for ensuring communication across shifts.
  • Ensures daily TPM activities and PM scheduling is completed.
  • Leads team members in problem-solving activities that enhance safety, quality and productivity objectives.
  • Supports safety, quality and productivity objectives through application of problem-solving and CI techniques, and operational systems such as MRP, Quality, TPM, STOP, etc.
  • Executes projects within the team or between internal teams that support safety, quality and productivity.
  • Maintains a variety of reports, records, and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, and procedures.
  • Supervises team in a manner that supports company and business unit strategies. Extends WARN’s strategic vision to team members.
  • In accordance with WARN’s Affirmative Action Plan, hires and develops team members who will provide high levels of performance.
  • Manages team in a manner that supports a positive work environment for all team members.
  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
  • May perform duties as listed in the Internal Quality Auditor job descriptions as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area. Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management.
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.
