About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Assurance, Mixing, Spray Drying, and Packing departments. This role involves supervising, coaching, and guiding hourly employees to ensure production processes and products meet or exceed written specifications. The supervisor will monitor daily reports, raw material and packaging material usage, and employee activity, recommending improvements as needed. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, directing production activities according to the schedule, obtaining competitive quotes for goods and services, and communicating with support departments to enhance overall facility performance. The role also involves assisting with attendance monitoring, training employees on equipment operation and GMP/FDA/USDA guidelines, troubleshooting root causes for improvements, and operating equipment to meet customer demands. The supervisor is expected to enforce company policies, maintain attendance records, and lead by example.

Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to climb portable ladders and climb steps/stairs several times during the shift.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, lifting, climbing, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work as a team member and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Follow safety standards and GMP practices while working with multiple services, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform any and all other duties as instructed by management.
  • Maintain attendance record above the standard and lead by example.
  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • Food processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising, coaching, and guiding hourly employees in the Quality Assurance, Mixing, Spray Drying, and Packing departments.
  • Monitoring daily reports, raw material usage, packaging material usage, and employee activity to meet or exceed production specifications.
  • Recommending changes or improvements to production processes and products.
  • Supervising the cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment and facility areas.
  • Directing and coordinating activities in production departments based on the production schedule.
  • Obtaining competitive quotes from vendors for goods and/or services.
  • Communicating with support departments on areas affecting facility performance.
  • Assisting in daily attendance monitoring.
  • Assisting in the training of operation of production and cleaning equipment.
  • Assisting in enforcing company policies and regulations.
  • Operating equipment and performing other daily requirements to maintain production output and support customer demands.
  • Training employees on designated tasks in alignment with GMP, FDA, and USDA guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Working with employees and staff to troubleshoot root causes for long-term solutions and improvements.
  • Promptly reporting any problems in daily processing to the Plant Superintendent, VP-Ops, or designee.
  • Referring employees with job-related problems to the Plant Superintendent, VP-Ops, or designee.
