About The Position

This job is responsible for leading and developing a team of production employees to consistently deliver high-quality meat products in a safe, sanitary, and efficient environment. This role ensures daily production goals are met by effectively managing people, equipment, and processes while maintaining full compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels and to motivate direct reports; specifically mentoring and coaching individuals and identifying short- and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time using effective organizational skills and judgment in an environment of frequently changing circumstances.
  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of experience in related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, lean manufacturing and other food safety, quality, and manufacturing principles.
  • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.
  • In Business Management, Production Operations Management, Agricultural Science, Food Science, or equivalent experience acquired through work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team, has authority to hire and performance-manage a team.
  • Leads/supervises/manages 21-25 employees.
  • Plans and allocates daily resources—including labor, equipment, materials, and systems—to safely and cost-effectively meet production targets.
  • Documents daily production activities, analyzes performance against established goals, and communicates variances during shift meetings and production reviews.
  • Facilitates smooth production flow and maintains effective shift-to-shift handoffs by communicating key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
  • Reviews daily maintenance results and partners with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prioritizes and requests maintenance work orders; follows up to ensure timely completion to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Applies focused improvement and root-cause analysis tools to resolve production issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements within the area of responsibility to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures strict compliance with quality programs, HACCP, GMPs, and all food safety requirements.
  • Conducts sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality inspections as required.
  • Actively engages in the identification, prevention, and correction of quality-related issues.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to all safety policies, procedures, regulations, and required use of personal protective equipment.
  • Promotes a culture of safety by coaching employees and reinforcing safe work practices.
  • Understands and places in practice appropriate safety procedures through education, training, use of protective equipment, and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
