About The Position

Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of production shift operations. This role involves the direct supervision of work crews processing materials to customer specifications in a safe and productive manner. The supervisor analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet internal and external needs, assigns operating equipment and personnel for efficient material flow, and computes stock and supply requirements based on production schedules. They interpret product specifications, assign duties, interface with other departments to meet production deadlines, and coordinate quality control inspections. Additionally, the supervisor establishes work procedures, recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, and analyzes and resolves work problems. This role also includes maintaining time and production records, participating in the company safety program, and performing other related duties. Management duties encompass supervising exempt and/or non-exempt staff, including performance evaluations, PTO approval, work delegation, training, guidance, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates.   • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Coordinates quality control inspections for compliance to standard specifications.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, environmental requirements, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Participates and contributes to company safety program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
