About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading all aspects of departmental safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and employee performance within assigned production and fabrication areas. This role provides daily leadership to hourly associates and production specialists, coordinates production schedules, ensures compliance with SOPs and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to read/write/speak/understand English.
  • Degree in Management, a related field, or equivalent on the job experience.
  • 3-5 years supervisor experience in manufacturing field required.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP experience is plus, preferred experience with SAP.
  • Lean experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employees are following all safety processes and protocols.
  • Responsible for ensuring employee training is completed completely and timely.
  • Enter absences and vacation into the time and attendance system, ADP.
  • Evaluate employee performance and pursue corrective action for rule violations.
  • Complete Hourly Performance Reviews.
  • Complete On-The-Job Training forms both hourly and temporary employees.
  • Notify management of employee issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for distribution and channeling of orders through the production areas.
  • Adjust manpower as required by production.
  • Ensure the production schedule is being produced daily.
  • Maintain flow of information to and from employees concerning work requirements, new policies, and new methods of operations.
  • Ensure employees are in compliance with safety and environmental rules.
  • Complete the Health and Safety Orientation Training Checklist for all new hires, transferring employees, and temporary workers.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings. Coordinate the completion of Incident Investigation Reports (IIR).
  • Coordinate the completion of Near Miss/Hazard Reports.
  • Investigate the cause of safety incidents and include in documentation on the IIR or Near Miss/Hazard Report.
  • Monitor emails distributed with items to be addressed during weekly safety meetings.
  • Participate by being a member of or assisting the 5-S for Safety Team.
  • Act as Supervisor for JHA team; coordinate JHA training each month.
  • Perform periodic inspections of the production/plant area.
  • Plan and coordinate production of quality foam at the lowest possible cost.
  • Check equipment for problems.
  • Complete maintenance work orders for repairs as needed.
  • Recommend and implement improved working methods.
  • Work together as a supervisor of the team to maximize plant output.
  • Address problems in the production area.
  • Control overtime.
  • Maximize foam yield.
  • Ensure shortages are added to the truck by shift end; the driver signs the bill of lading and receives packing list.
  • Attend Supervisory training courses.
  • Responsible for following all environmental, safety, and work rules.
  • Responsible for notifying management of any harassment, unsafe acts/conditions, or environmental concerns.
  • Responsible for following the 5-S for Safety Process (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, sustain).
  • Responsible for working safely.
  • Responsible for complying with all quality requirements.
  • Responsible for working overtime when required/scheduled.
  • Available for call-in when necessary.
