The Production Supervisor is responsible for daily decision-making within the cutting department, including scheduling, discipline, promotions, engagement, and issue resolution. This role involves working closely with Human Resources on HR-related matters concerning team members and ensuring adherence to all safety, health, and environmental procedures. The supervisor must maintain material identification throughout production, interpret work orders, sketches, schedules, blueprints, and verbal instructions, and review work orders for accuracy before starting production. A key aspect of the role is operating various production equipment to gain an intimate understanding of the production process and machinery. The supervisor will direct and assist the production crew, identify and eliminate waste in production processes, and mentor and train team members on safety, quality, operating procedures, and customer focus. Sharing knowledge to improve others' understanding, performance, and satisfaction is crucial. Additionally, the role requires measuring and inspecting parts using various tools to ensure product specifications are met, completing operational data entry, maintaining material traceability, and assisting maintenance with equipment and furnace repairs.
