Requirements

  • HSED or GED required
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a production environment
  • Understanding of PVC extrusion cause and effects preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own the process of the 5-Why program for root cause problem solving.
  • Administer the WESTLAKE Safety program on the production shift level, including conducting safety training, shift meetings, inspections, reporting, incident investigation, and follow-up.
  • Complete accurate and timely reports and paperwork, including Data pass, SAP Production Reports, SPC Charts, and shift personnel's attendance, overtime, and disciplinary events.
  • Provide technical support to production team members.
  • Recommend alterations and redesign of equipment through root cause analysis.
  • Direct, supervise, and develop team members to meet or exceed goals and objectives such as production output, scrap rates, material utilization, and regrind usage.
  • Recommend promotions, demotions, and disciplinary action of subordinates.
  • Direct, supervise, and develop team members regarding product quality to Westlake standards, including testing and record keeping.
  • Oversee the effective and timely changeover of production lines to meet customer requirements.
  • Attend Supervisor meetings as required.
  • Take ownership of total housekeeping of the plant during the work shift and enforce all housekeeping policies with team members.
  • Conduct actions on the job with professionalism.
  • Plan and coordinate the duties and responsibilities of all production personnel.
