About The Position

The Production Supervisor is tasked with managing and overseeing the daily activities of running the shift. Oversee the team is delivering defect free material on time to internal and external customers as requested. Oversee all operations in all work areas for the day to day operations, while supporting plant efficiencies. Support a culture that promotes a team atmosphere, where integrity and respect are practiced daily. Promote a safe work environment, where all safety policies are followed. Supervisor is responsible for leading the team, which entails safety, quality, productivity, and personal development of their teammates. As well as supporting 5S and Kaizen activities.

Requirements

• Associates/Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory experience
• Plastics/Chemical field of study preferred
• Typing, basic computer skills, Office products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and UKG payroll system.
• Ability to work in a high stress dynamic manufacturing environment, be a self-starter, knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety basics, Lean principles, and Structured Problem-Solving training
• Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment, including but not limited to respirators.
• Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative.

Nice To Haves

• Strong mechanical backgrounds in machine operations and plastics extrusion a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work environment for our employees. Monitor work is being completed in a safe manner.
• Perform daily production audits. Updating daily shift production trackers and shift summaries.
• Audit payroll system daily for attendance and accurate pay.
• Participate in 5S and Kaizen events.
• Conduct Quality audits.
• Respond to emails when appropriate.
• Other tasks as assigned.
• Track status of employee safety training.
• Approve employee weekly time cards.
• Leading the team, which entails safety, quality, productivity, and personal development of their teammates.
• Supporting 5S and Kaizen activities.
• Make decisions that are suited in the best interest of Duro-Last, Operates in accordance to Duro-Last Handbook, and direction from the Plant Manager.
• Communication to Senior level managers, writing reports as required, Review integrity, SOP development, and communication through e-mail to internal and possibly external customers.
• Problem solve and use continuous improvement tools that increase profitably by reducing scrap, increasing machine up-time, reducing changeover, and increasing 1st Time quality focus.
• Build rapport with employees, keeping them engaged to achieve high employee morale and output.
• Deal with ambiguity, Conflict resolution, Goal setting, building effective Teams, Communication and Decision making.
