About The Position

Supervises all aspects of the Kiln department during the 24 X 6 operation. The position is responsible for actively managing the performance of people and processes in a manufacturing setting. Key performance areas include safety, quality overall equipment effectiveness, and operator productivity. This role oversees the operation and maintenance of kilns, ensuring tiles are properly fired and meets quality standards. Manage a team (up to 10 associates), coordinate activities, and implement improvements to maximize kiln efficiency and production. This role often involves analyzing kiln operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Communicates all issues with the Plant Manager, Supervisors and Team Leaders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience required
  • Experience with developing, implementing, and documenting procedures.
  • Must be computer proficient using Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • A.S. or B.S. degree in related field is highly preferred.
  • Supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with WMS systems such as AS400 and SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enforces health, safety, and environmental regulations and adheres to SOPs and company practices/guidelines.
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of associates (up to 30-35 hourly associates) engaged in all areas of the manufacturing plant.
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and consistently with Team Leads and Production Supervisors and Managers.
  • Plans and establishes work assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Ensure that all operations are always running to standard with an eye to high quality and high capacity.
  • Monitor the performance of associates and provide feedback and training.
  • Coach and provide consistent application of associate relation policies.
  • Oversee training of production personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize automated timekeeping and HR systems for accurate accounting of work hours.
  • Authority to review and approve vacations and time off, and/or process disciplinary action. Correct and communicate in a timely manner to payroll all necessary information to process payroll.
  • Prepares and conducts performance evaluations and issues disciplinary action.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and/or process improvement activities.
  • Consistently enforces company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
