Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED preferably supplemented by an associate degree in mechanical/industrial technology.
  • Three years of experience supervising in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of machines and maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to follow schedules.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply quality control standards, safety requirements, provisions of the company rules.
  • Ability to overcome immediate and long range problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to provide leadership and employ strong human relation skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • High school plus some post high school math or shop math.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the training activities of all personnel in assigned departments.
  • Direct and motivate the manufacturing work force to produce product of high quality in the most efficient and safe manner.
  • Ensure that scheduling meets business and customer requirements.
  • Ensure safety through good housekeeping practices.
  • Achieve Efficiency, Scrap and Set up objectives.
  • Maintain daily attendance through ADP payroll system.
  • Maintain discipline on shop floor.
  • Perform annual reviews.
