About The Position

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day warehouse and shop operations and supervising technicians in the performance of assigned technical and administrative tasks. This role executes and monitors daily production schedules, coordinates workflow, and makes real‑time adjustments and work reassignments to ensure operational targets are met. The Production Supervisor serves as a hands‑on, frontline leader who supports employees, enforces safety and quality standards, and communicates operational issues, risks, and opportunities to management. This position will supervise shop, warehouse and electronics lab personnel.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, some college coursework, or equivalent work experience preferred; Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, repair, or technical operations environment
  • 1–3 years of prior supervisory or lead experience overseeing hourly employees in a shop, warehouse, or similar setting
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate daily work activities, prioritize tasks, and resolve operational issues in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use business systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, IFS)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and feedback to team members
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, reinforce company values, and maintain productive working relationships
  • Customer‑ and service‑oriented mindset with a practical, solution‑focused approach

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily work activities for shop technicians, including assigning tasks, providing instructions, and checking completed work to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Monitor and review completed work, documenting results and reporting progress, issues, or rework needs to the Production Manager.
  • Build effective working relationships with team members by providing clear expectations, ongoing coaching, and day‑to‑day performance feedback.
  • Ensure assigned work is completed on schedule, within defined cost expectations, and in accordance with customer specifications; escalate issues or constraints as needed.
  • Track shop output, material usage, orders, and productivity, identifying variances and bringing trends or concerns to management’s attention.
  • Identify upcoming repair or parts needs based on current workload and equipment condition and communicate requirements to the Production Manager.
  • Monitor daily workload and production capacity, making short‑term adjustments and recommending longer‑term changes to management.
  • Provide regular verbal and written updates to management regarding equipment performance, workflow status, customer-related issues, employee concerns, and operational risks.
  • Administer and reinforce TOMRA company procedures and service department policies, ensuring technicians understand and follow established guidelines.
  • Coordinate requests for tools, equipment, and hardware required for technicians to perform assigned tasks, in accordance with approved processes.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed within the production shop, addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions and escalating concerns promptly.
