About The Position

This role is for a Production Supervisor in the Evisceration/Paw Room on the 1st Shift in Batesville, AR. The supervisor will be responsible for overseeing production staff, ensuring quality standards, and managing various administrative tasks related to payroll and employee status. The position requires a strong understanding of food safety, USDA regulations, and HACCP, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The supervisor must also embody Peco Values: Safety, Teamwork, Mutual Respect, Accountability, & Honesty.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to rotate through different departments
  • Must be, or become, sorter certified
  • Have knowledge of food safety, USDA regulations, and HACCP
  • Be familiar with the various types of machinery & processes in the assigned department.
  • 1-3 years leadership experience
  • Ability to multi-task & set priorities, monitoring product flow and line speed to meet hourly and daily production targets.
  • Be Dependable
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills, and time management.
  • Must demonstrate successful supervisory skills, writing skills, creative & effective problem-solving skills, & basic knowledge of computers & related software.
  • Experience working in a fast-pace environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills & attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision for assigned line production staff
  • Verify daily & weekly payroll time sheets for all team members in the department as assigned.
  • Responsible for daily & weekly UKG employee status and paperwork such as but not limited to: attendance, vacation request, disciplinary actions, yield & product reporting.
  • Ensure that all product produced is of the highest level & standard of quality.
  • Physically inspect products for both natural occurring & processing defects.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, fellow supervisors, managers, & USDA.
  • Proactively seek the opportunity to help fellow team members, as well as opportunities to improve processes.
  • Know & Comply with all written corporate safety & plant policies.
  • Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene & cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
  • Follow the written specification for packaging & labeling of products.
  • Identify & report any suspicious situations to immediate supervisor or plant management official.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
